DAVID JOHANSEN, who has enjoyed a prolific 35-year career, will be performing a unique selection of songs at Patriots Theater at the Trenton War Memorial on November 25th at 7 PM as part of the On Patriots Stage – The Kaplan Series.
The special show, which has been titled An Evening With David Johansen, will present the singer-songwriter side of this multi-faceted entertainer, featuring songs from the NEW YORK DOLLS both old and new, his solo records with THE DAVID JOHANSEN BAND, BUSTER POINDEXTER, THE HARRY SMITHS, and even a few choice covers.
“I’ve been wanting to play a bunch of songs that I don’t normally get the opportunity to sing in a loud and fast Dolls show. As much as I love that, I also like to explore the more soulful side of singing,” Johansen said.
Johansen last-performed at the Trenton War Memorial nearly a year ago with blues legend Hubert Sumlin to a sold-out crowd. The show was such a success that he decided to return “with some really great musicians.”
He continued, “I’ll be singing songs from throughout my career and maybe some songs that have inspired me in a mellow and intimate setting. I think it’s going to be beautiful, and a cool way to start the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.”
Tickets are $25.00 and available at The Patriots Theater Box Office at (609) 984-8400, (800) 955-5566 or online at thewarmemorial.com or tickets.com and a 10% Military Discount (Box office only, must show ID). Parking is always free and directions can be found at the Patriots Theater website.
