From tour line-up announcements to band line-up changes, there was a lot happening last week in the world of metal. Read on to find out more.

Tour announcements: The 2013 lineup for Summer Slaughter tour will feature the Dillinger Escape Plan, Animals as Leaders, Periphery, Cattle Decapitation, the Ocean and Aeon to name a few. The 2013 lineup for Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will feature Rob Zombie, Mastodon, Amon Amarth, Machine Head, Job for a Cowboy, Behemoth and Children of Bodom, among others. Jason Newsted’s band Flotsam and Jetsam, now joined by Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, announced an April/May US tour.

Album announcements: Strapping Young Lad will release a limited edition 7 LP box set of all 5 of their full-length albums, 3 of which have never been pressed as vinyl. The title of Children of Bodom’s upcoming album (to be released June 11th) is Halo of Blood.

Concert Announcements: Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) will be a featured soloist with the San Diego Symphony on April 2014. Lord Worm will rejoin Cryptopsy for the Amnesia Rockfest in Quebec.

Releases: Rob Zombie released a lyric video for “Dead City Radio And The New Gods Of Supertown,” the first single from his upcoming album Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor. Killswitch Engage released a free streaming version of “The New Awakening” from their upcoming Disarm the Dissent album.

Lineup Changes: Vocalist Jonathan Carpenter left the Contortionist and has now been replaced with Mike Lessard (Last Chance to Reason). Bassist Karen Cuda left Nashville Pussy after 8 years, becoming the 4th bass player to leave the band.

RIP: Guitarist David Parland (Dark Funeral, Necrophobic, Infernal) passed away at the age of 42 from as yet undisclosed reasons.
